Text PDF vs scanned PDF

Text-layer PDFs keep selectable characters with positions. Scanned pages are pictures of text — they need OCR, which is not live here. If you cannot select text in a normal PDF reader, treat the file as a scan.

Steps in the tool

Common grid errors

Merged header cells, decimal separators, and thin borderless columns often need a human pass. Source peek helps; it is not an accuracy guarantee.

Is this the same as PDF to Excel?

Related job, different framing. We extract tables to XLSX with review. We are not shipping a general PDF suite aimed at the hardest head keyword.

Wired and borderless tables?

Ordinary wired and borderless tables are in scope as intent; detection quality varies — always proofread.

Password-protected PDFs?

Not supported in this version. Unlock locally first, then try again.
